Controlling Prnters using print server
I don't see a problem in just using it on your Print Server as not a whole lot has changed. It didn't break anything like SP1 did, at least not for us. We had some initial problems with our print server when we migrated to SP2 in August 07 but the problems were resolved with some post-SP2 hotfixes (see below).

Number of Printers Handled by a Printer Server
As suggested in the manual, I reset my network to 192.0.0.0 to get access to the embedded web server through Netscape. That worked well, except I had a few problems changing the IP to my actual network. I think, though, I didn't give it enough time to make the change. Anyway, the printer server was configured.
